

On the plus side, it generally manages to develop lofts and fillets that woild be next to impossible with Alibre but in reality, I rarely found there was not some workaround in Alibre.

So a few months ago I decided to splash out on a subscription to Solidworks connected for makers. Roll forwards a couple of years and I started to find some of the idiosyncrasy (bugs?) of Alibre somewhat irritating. I then found Alibre could help me with all sorts of different personal projects so I decided to keep up with maintenance when I retired. I originally purchased Alibre some years ago when a client asked me to do some work which required that I could open and view some complex assemblies (actually hydraulic pumps and valves).
